The Sky is falling on indie film

For the movie buffs - At my friend Hayley's wedding, I sat next to a man called Mark Gill. Mark had just made a key note speech at a film industry conference about the future of independent films that caused a real stir in the industry. Essentially, the speech was about the number of crap movies that are made in America. Attached is a link to the latimes blog regarding Mark's speech, if you are interested.

Mark has set up a production company to make indie movies called The Film Department. They are currently making a film about the life of F.Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, starring Kiera Knightly and directed by the guy who directed The Painted Veil. They have not decided on a leading man yet (or hadn't as at 30 November). I suggested the lead in Little Children because I think that he is GORGEOUS! Mark's wife Hanna (Yale graduate) wrote the screen play, which would have to be my fantasy job.

Mark and Hanna have a french mastiff and an apartment in Paris (St Germain). However, they still have to endure Hollywood for most of the year, I suppose!
